American National is seeking a Compliance Analyst within our Life/Policy Division.

Job Duties:
Gain working knowledge of the company's life and annuity administrative processes and master the LIA compliance controls and procedures to provide guidance and to ensure adherence to mandated controls and regulations

Build effective working relationships with business unit management by researching and providing guidance to compliance related issues as they arise and also escalating to the LIA Compliance Director when necessary

Perform research and analysis of life insurance and annuity regulatory compliance rules, bulletins, and regulations

Assist in development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of Corporate LIA Compliance regulatory policies and procedures

Review, research, and draft Department of Insurance and consumer complaint responses that comply with corporate LIA compliance and state mandated requirements-Identify potential complaint activity trends and communicate trends to management for further review

Act as liaison between Life Insurance Administration and internal/external auditors by coordinating testing schedules, explaining controls, and assisting with department reviews, Assists with auditors as requested with life insurance and annuity contract research

Perform compliance testing of established controls for Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) AML, OFAC, Suitability Pre-Issue Review, New York Regulation (60), and other regulatory compliance initiatives

Represents LIA Compliance in other compliance related projects on behalf of the Life Insurance Administration and participates in cross functional workgroups that are focused on identifying compliance risks and providing effective and efficient solutions

Perform general compliance duties and assists with special projects as assigned

Job
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and preferably (3-5) years related insurance experience

Insurance industry courses preferred or the desire to pursue continuing education courses

Working knowledge of life insurance terminology

Knowledge of federal and state regulatory framework and requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication, required

Experience performing detailed auditing and testing

Problem solving ability, decision making abilities, excellent analytical skill set, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and with a team

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
