Payroll Manager SAP
American National is currently seeking candidates for a Payroll Manager in our Galveston, TX corporate office.
The SAP Payroll Manager will manage all aspects of payroll ensuring compliance and accuracy. Carries out responsibility for payroll preparation/processing and additional responsibilities such as records administration and payroll/time and attendance systems maintenance.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee departmental processing of in-house Payroll through SAP, collaborating with HRIS and IT on maintenance and enhancements for payrolls in a multi-state environment.
Manages all aspects of the payroll process, establishing appropriate checks and balances to ensure payroll compliance, accuracy and timeliness. Ensures full compliance of Payroll processes and procedures with all federal, state and local regulations.
Time and Attendance processing and system maintenance, using Kronos.
Partners with Benefits Department to ensure accuracy of benefits payments.
Oversees the administration of payment of wages, bonuses, and equity compensation. Also responsible for payment of disability, garnishments and all other company benefit payments.
Approve all regular payroll runs for salary and hourly employees as well as all off-cycle payroll runs as necessary following established procedures.
Manage with time and attendance systems, solving any system glitches and maintenance required for effective system usage.
Design and develop reports as needed to support payroll and other internal customers.
Confirm tax registration with all applicable states/localities and ensure correct tax rates. Knowledge of payroll taxes compliance issues in multiple states.
Manage updates and changes to rates and tax status as it relates to Unemployment tax rates for each state, of any procedural or organizational changes affecting the Payroll services, and to resolve any discrepancies or system issues.
Support periodic labor and payroll audits by providing pertinent data in timely manner to auditors as well as ensuring all payroll data is filed and maintained accurately, orderly and securely.
Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations relating to Payroll operations and control.
Continuous improvement of Payroll processes and strategies to align with overall business objectives working cross-functionally with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required. Major in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
SAP payroll experience required.
Minimum of 5 years payroll management experience required.
