Actuarial Associate - Financial Reporting/Valuation

American National Insurance Company is now seeking a career ASA for an Actuarial Associate position on our Life Valuation/Financial Reporting team, specifically Life products. This is a full time salary
benefits position located in our corporate headquarters in Galveston, Texas.

The ideal candidate should be motivated, self-confident and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Manage the traditional life valuation process
Development of models utilized in CFT, ALM, and planning functions
Implement PBA reserves as it applies to traditional products
Completion of various annual statement exhibits
Maintain current knowledge on actuarial techniques


Minimum Requirements:
ASA in current compliance with the SOA's continuing professional development requirements
Minimum of five years of actuarial experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. Must be an experienced user of actuarial modeling and valuation software. Lifemaster and Axis experience is highly preferred.
Basic understanding of insurance accounting
Personal discipline, highly developed thinking skills, and a sincere desire to achieve goals is important to be successful in this position
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be a team player and have the ability to work effectively with associates in other departments

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
