Summary:
The Plant Operator will primarily operate the plant dryer, screens and loadout in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Operate plant dryer, screens and load out Complete quality control sampling and testing Complete weekly, monthly, and other periodic safety inspections.
Assist with disassembling and reassembling screeners/conveyors.
Assist in performing preventative, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on all plant process equipment, buildings, and grounds.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications/Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license if operating company equipment on State and Federal Roads Forklift experience required Experience in plant control operations Basic computer skills knowledge Basic mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, preferred Proven problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude Understand and follow oral and written instructions Prepare written reports and/or forms as needed Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing or via radio Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Work flexible hours, including weekends as required Must be a self-starter and ability to multi-task and work on multiple deliverables with a minimum of supervision.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, twist/turn, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Possess good hand-eye coordination and have the ability to operate/manipulate the valves, levers, joy sticks, foot pedals, hand wheels and other controls on the machines on a repetitive basis.
Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
Employee must be physically capable of spending long hours outdoors and occasionally work in protected clothing and equipment such as face shields, goggles, hoods, helmets, boots, and etc.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders (including vertical).
Must be fit for duty.
Work Environment - Must be able to perform under the following conditions:
Work in awkward or confining workspaces.
Work in elevated places.
Work in outdoor environment.
Work in noisy environment.
Work in areas that are dusty and may have some odors.
Safety is a job requirement.
Able to work in Adverse Weather Conditions.
Environmental Health and Safety
Responsibilities:
Maintain site and personnel compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations.
Become familiar with US Minerals Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.
Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).
Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion.
Follow all US Minerals facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices.
Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.
Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement.
Participate in job safety analysis activities.
