Kennel Assistant (Janitorial/Custodial) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES For general descriptive purposes only, as actual job duties may vary and are subject to change due to changing business or client/patient needs, and may include other duties as needed Schedule:
Part time.
Approximately 3-hour to 4-hour evening shifts, Monday through Friday.
(While subject to daily variation, illustrative examples may include 4:
30-7:
30 PM or 4:
00-8:
00 PM on weekdays, etc.
) Availability to assist every other Sunday in the morning or afternoon (preferably both) strongly preferred.
Janitorial Duties:
General cleaning of veterinary clinic, keeping the facility clean and organized; cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing of surfaces, shelves, floors, and equipment; sweeping and mopping floors; collecting and disposing of trash; disposing of documents in shredding bin; notifying management of any observed need for repairs; notifying management when cleaning supplies are low in stock; completing tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision; following through on instruction; other duties and tasks, as needed.
Kennel Duties:
(Training in Kennel Assistant duties will be provided.
) Feeding animals; walking and observing dogs outdoors; cleaning kennels and habitats; kennel laundry; cleaning cat litter; transporting animals to and from kennels, exam rooms, the lobby, and clients' vehicles; administering medications; carefully documenting both work performed and observations in electronic medical records software; observing patients for signs of discomfort; immediately informing veterinarians of suspected medical concerns; completing tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision; following through on detailed instructions; other duties and tasks, as needed.

And of course, a love for animals is a must! EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Past experience in a janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping role strongly preferred.

Must pass a background check.

Just on the other side of the wetlands is the ocean, an easy 5-minute drive away! We are locally-owned, with firmly established roots in the community.
While the majority of our patients are companion animals (dogs and cats), we also see birds, exotic pets, and even occasional farm animals.

Campeche Cove All Animal Hospital (CCAAH) is located in the beautiful island-city of Galveston, easily accessible to all parts of the island and other cities throughout Galveston County, plus a simple 45-minute drive to the bustling metropolis of Houston! Our home-like facility has a beautiful outdoor deck that faces protected wetlands full of birds and wildlife.
Just on the other side of the wetlands is the ocean, which is an easy 5-minute drive away! We don't work overnight hours, and our facility houses radiography, dental radiography, cautery, and ultrasound equipment, as well as a high-speed dental unit and a well-equipped lab for blood, urine, and fecal analysis.
We are locally-owned, with firmly established roots in the community.
