The company is currently seeking a high-energy team player to manage our campus bookstore in Galveston, Texas at Galveston College.
Store Manager responsibilities- Plan, organize and manage the campus bookstore according to the Retail Division management plan Meet or exceed budgeted goals concerning sales and service Build and maintain an outstanding customer service model with customers and the college Specific Duties- Procurement and sale of textbooks, spirit wear, supplies and sundries Public relations- develop and maintain strong relationships with administration, faculty and staff of the campus Management- follow and train all staff in company policies regarding accounting, personnel, payroll and security functions Merchandising- Maintain a great looking store year round and ensure sell-able appropriate inventory levels at most critical times Expense controls- Formulate and prepare yearly budget projections and monitor expenses year round Qualifications- 2 years as a Store Manager of a retail store such as Big Box, Discount, Boutique, Specialty, Department store or Campus Bookstore required for consideration Previous bookstore experience preferred Used textbook experience a plus Background check required- driving, criminal and credit histories reviewed Excellent team building and communications skills Understanding of accounting- opening and closing the store functions and daily sales audit reconciliation Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Please include salary history, and/or salary requirements to be considered Benefits- We offer an attractive benefits package, including bonus, health insurance, 401 (k) savings and paid vacation.
