What We Want The Aquatics and Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the outdoor pool including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising lifeguards, scheduling the pool facility, and general maintenance.
This position also oversees the student employee audit program for the department including training department student and professional staff in First Aid/CPR/AED and lifeguard certifications, providing certification courses to the campus and external community, conducting skills audits for department student staff, and monitoring first aid kit supplies for the department.

$40,000-45,000 annually, based on selected hire's experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and move heavy objects and/or containers.
Required Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of experience in student affairs work or related specialty.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field Lifeguard certification American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Water Safety Instructor American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Experience using Fusion and SubItUp software systems
Responsibilities:
Administration - Oversees all aspects of the outdoor swimming pool.
Coordinates the pool schedule for open swim hours, various academic courses, summer camps, third party rental groups, and special events.
Assists student organizations and departments with special events utilizing the pool.
Performs general maintenance on pool equipment.
Identifies maintenance issues and takes corrective action or coordinates with external vendors for repairs.
Schedules and coordinates preventative maintenance for the swimming pool heater and other equipment.
Works with Director on deferred maintenance plans and facility maintenance projects.
Communicates maintenance issues with facility users.
Works with the Business Administrator to create invoices for facility rentals.
Student Supervision & Development - Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates student employee lifeguards and head lifeguards.
Supervises approximately 15 student lifeguards including 2 head lifeguards.
Actively engages student employees to enhance their learning experiences.
Meets one-on-one on a regular basis to encourage student development.
Provides appropriate feedback and on-going professional development opportunities.
Assists in the department-wide student employee professional development program.
Risk Management - Oversees the risk management student employee audit program for the department.
This includes development of first aid, CPR, & AED tests, quizzes, trainings, drills, and monitoring first aid supplies for all department first aid kits.
Conducts first aid, CPR, & AED certification courses for student employees, faculty/staff, Club Sports officers, and community members.
Updates the department risk management plan in collaboration with the Director.
Advises and makes recommendations to the Director on risk management policies and procedures.
Fiscal Management - Reviews the pool operations and payroll budgets.
Tracks payroll hours and pool operational expenses.
Works with Director to plan deferred maintenance budget expenditures.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
