GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides medically necessary services to inmates in the custody of the correctional agency. Monitors nursing services and supervises non-physician midlevel clinical services for the site, as required by state law. Serves as a liaison for clinical matters with medical providers outside the system and be available to provide on call services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides examination of referred patients at correctional facility at scheduled time.
Implements and supervises on-site Chronic Care Clinics.
Provides care to adult inmate population.
Participates in monthly Medical Audit Committee and Continuous Quality Improvement meetings, as indicated.
Provides on-site medical care to patients and coordinates on and off site care needs.
Consults with medical providers in the community to resolve issues in delivering services to inmates.
Supervises mid-level, nursing, and other non-physician clinical services at the site.
Examines patients and records encounters in patient's progress notes using SOAP format.
Countersigns all verbal or telephonic orders within seventy-two (72) hours.
Provides care on-site before referring off-site treatment when appropriate and on-site capabilities exist.
Provides emergency treatment on-site and responds appropriately in urgent and emergent situations.
Maintains proper certification for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Exercises responsible individual professional judgment and actions.
Utilizes standard universal precautions when providing any invasive procedures for diagnostic or routine studies or handling specimens.
Keeps patient information confidential and respects patient's right to privacy, in accordance with applicable laws and requirements.
Abides by the security regulations, policies, and rules of the facility.
Notifies Health Service Administrator of changes in scheduled coverage and/or request for time off.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education
Graduate of Medical School, state license, current DEA registration, and current BLS certification is required. Experience in a primary care specialty and board certified, eligible, or qualification from state laws and regulations to practice medicine is also a requirement.

Ability to work as a member of a team.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
