00 Annually Specific Job Related Duties The AVP and Deputy CIO will work together with the CIO to develop and manage capital and operating budgets for the Information Services (IS) department.
The AVP and Deputy CIO will have direct line management responsibilities with current Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers in areas to be jointly determined by the CIO and Deputy CIO.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the CIO with production support and day:
to:
day operations.
Ensure successful planning, implementation, operation, and support for Information Services applications and infrastructure.
Establish performance measures to ensure that information services managers and staff are accountable and compliant in project planning, risk and issue management, processes and procedures, and change management.
Ensure that all IS divisions are integrated into the one:
stop shopping service model for Information Services.
Initiate and oversee process improvement and quality initiatives within the IS organization.
Participate on institutional committees and task:
forces as designated.
Establish credibility with the senior management team, faculty and department heads.
Develop policies and procedures for Information Services.
Lead with charismatic style and delegate efficiently and effectively.
Monitor and lead by example.
Preferred Education Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field and seven to ten years related experience.
Preferred Skill/Competency Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written.
Must be decisive, flexible and results oriented with the ability and desire to achieve goals quickly.
Understanding of the missions and organization of the University of Texas Medical Branch Preferred Work Experience Masters degree in Computer Science or related field and ten years related experience.
Minimum of 7 :
10 years progressive management experience working in a dynamic complex academic healthcare organization; experience in a matrix management environment.
Ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels, understand the institution's goals Source:
