Regular Min Qualifications Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or basic sciences required.
Technologist Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) required.
Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a laboratory as Certified Technologist required.
Job Description:
Salary Range The salary range for this position is from 53,820 to 79,920 annually, commensurate with experience.
This position is a pay Band Code PC14.
Specific Job Related Duties - Coordinates and directs all administrative and laboratory procedures within the section.
- Schedules work assignments within the section.
- Coordinates development of new test procedures.
- Reviews and updates existing test procedures.
- Maintains laboratory manuals for the section.
- Reviews quality of test results and quality control procedures, making judgments concerning results and taking appropriate action to maintain accuracy.
- Develops protocols and procedures for the section.
- Instructs new employees, section personnel, and students in new and established clinical laboratory procedures.
- Assists personnel with complex procedures, exercising independent judgment and responsibility.
- Administers personnel policies such as sick leave, vacation, and performance evaluations for section personnel.
- Reviews test results, QC data, and proficiency data for accuracy.
- Maintains inventory of reagents and other supplies.
- Prepares workload and related budget data.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Work Schedule The shift for this position is nights.
